Default Changing Motor Cable

I've been reading and looking a lot recently at motor cable changes, and I'm wondering if people bother with this much.

There are several options of motor cable, Ninco, MB Slot to name but two. I was interested to know if this is something done widescale by some of the racers amongst us here and what edge they think it gives them over the standard supplied cable.

Wibbs.
Cable needs to take sufficient current to supply the motors needs.
Most 'Normal' Scalex type motors we use don't draw much current unless pulling very heavy mags in mag racing.
I think most guys play around with cable types, to get clearance under tight front ends, routing cable through the chassis, and also to help with guide centreing.
Cheers Bill.

I tried all cable available and i still cant catch you know who, but seriously as long as the cable will carry the amps i cant see how its makes any differance as the only drawback could be the cable sapping power............... I wait to be corrected !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never considered it much, but looking at one or two cars in the SIC high up the order - they have changed cable, and reading on a couple of the European forums they seem to change cable as a matter of course...

Maybe I'm reading too much into it

I tend to use the JP Slot cable as they make a very thin (orange) cable which is ideal for cars with a low or restrictive front ie: Toyota GT1.
It's so thin that it doesn't catch anywhere but still "returns" the guide.

I hear good things of JP Slot Cable... is it just the fact that it's thin or does it offer any other magical properties do you think Graeme?

Well it's "oxygen free" so conducts better, apparently, but other than that,no.
Can't notice the car runs faster but as i said before, the thin type is very usefull.
